Brazilian pop star Anitta will perform at halftime of the first NFL game in the South American country on September 6
Anitta will be the main attraction at the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers on September 6 at the Neo Química Arena. The game will mark the NFL’s debut on Brazilian soil.
The Brazilian singer will perform some of her greatest hits to celebrate the historic weekend in Sao Paulo, which will mark the start of the 2024 regular season.
“I grew up in Brazil and that completely shaped my path as an artist and, of course, as a person,” Anitta said in a statement.
“It means a lot to me to be able to perform in São Paulo, at the first NFL game in Brazil, and to be able to bring to fans around the world all the excitement and joy of our incredible culture. It is truly a dream come true to be part of this moment,” he added.
The halftime show will be broadcast globally, which is why Anitta was chosen to represent the Brazilian music scene at this historic event.
“With all the excitement surrounding the NFL’s inaugural game in Brazil, we felt it was essential to tap into the dynamic rhythm of São Paulo’s music scene,” said Tim Tubito, NFL director of game events and presentation.
“We are thrilled to feature global sensation Anitta and a lineup of Brazil’s top artists at this significant event, promising fans and viewers around the world an unforgettable celebration of performance and culture.”
In addition to being the star of the halftime show, Anitta will also have an exclusive line of NFL merchandise, launching on September 1. The goal is to also celebrate the artist’s expression through fashion.
Before the start in São Paulo, CAROLA, electronic music artist, will perform.
During the national anthems, Luísa Sonza will sing the Brazilian anthem, while Zeeba, who has Brazilian and American nationalities, will sing the United States anthem.
