New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge welcomed one of his other teammates to Yankee Stadium on Thursday.
A regular on the Nickelodeon show “Rubble & Crew” was on the field at Yankee Stadium prior to the game against the Cleveland Guardians.
That character even got a shout-out at the plate before Gerrit Cole threw his first pitch.
An animated version of Judge will star in the next episode of a “PAW Patrol” spin-off series, which will premiere on Nickelodeon on Monday at 11 a.m. ET.
Judge lent his voice to the episode, which is titled “The Crew Builds a Ballpark,” and in which Rubble and his teammates build a stadium to host a home run festival at Builder Cove for Judge, who can’t get out of town to participate in a different kind of home run derby.
“As a proud dog owner, it was an incredible experience to join Rubble and his friends on this adventure,” Judge said earlier this year. “Through the work of my foundation, I understand the importance of reaching out to children and teaching them the importance of teamwork.
“It was fun to combine two things I am passionate about – dogs and baseball – to deliver this valuable message.”
Also appearing on this episode is Judge’s wife, Samantha, who voiced one of the couple’s pets, Penny. The first 15,000 fans to arrive at the stadium on Thursday received an exclusive “Rubble x NYY” cap.
