After weeks of rumors, leaks and revelations, Mexican singer Belinda finally released the official music video for her song “La Mala,” which was released days earlier on digital platforms, responding to the diverse criticism and accusations she has received following her relationship with Mexican singer Christian Nodal.
In the video clip, which was filmed in some of the most touristic sites in the city of Guanajuato, such as the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the singer can be seen, at the beginning of her material, dressed in a damaged dress, while dozens of people hurl insults, complaints and even objects at her.
The opening sequence is a clear reference to the variety of criticisms and accusations that, according to the actress, she has received in recent years after her breakup with the singer of “Botella tras Botella.”
The above was even mentioned by the Latin artist during a recent interview with the media outlet Reforma, where she mentioned that “no one knows you well enough to be able to say why a relationship failed.”
Belinda says goodbye to criticism
Almost halfway through the video, Belinda appears in what appears to be a kind of confessional, where she is also seen carrying the head of a man with dozens of tattoos on his face, which clearly refers to Christian Nodal due to the physical similarity they share.
Similarly, and a little further on, the interpreter of “Boba Niña Nice” appears in the middle of a room, surrounded by various women who seem to weave a mask for the singer, alluding to the distorted image that people on social networks and the media have created about her.
Regarding this topic, the Mexican singer mentioned during the same interview that social media users currently have the ability to discredit others without any apparent reason. However, and in light of this, Belinda mentioned that all those people who tend to judge others without knowing the full context of the situation could suffer in the same way later on.
Near the end of the video, you can see what appears to be Belinda’s older version trapped in a coffin underground, while the current version of the singer says goodbye to her former self.
The video for Belinda, which is her third single this year, caused a stir on social media after the Secretary of Tourism of the city of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, revealed that the singer was paid nearly $200 thousand dollars to film in the city of Guanajuato.
