After Real Madrid won the European Super Cup against Atalanta, the spotlight was on the new attacking trident that will be in the team this season: Vinícius Jr., Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
However, the press did not take into account the team’s other attacker, Rodrygo, who has also been a key player in the white team. But with the arrival of Mbappé, his figure is beginning to be relegated.
The media has been making a lot of noise about the Brazilian’s possible annoyance in the team. There were even leaks of alleged messages from the player in his Instagram group in which he claimed that his name should be added to the attacking trident.
In the face of these possible rumours of Rodrygo’s discontent, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti had to calm things down in the dressing room at a press conference.
“For me there is no Rodrygo issue. He is very happy and content, delighted because he is playing. It is an issue that we do not discuss because it should not be discussed,” the Italian coach said to the media after being asked about the “Rodrygo case.”
Ancelotti also took the opportunity to give the Brazilian striker a good boost. There were also many rumours of his possible departure from the team due to the arrival of Mbappé. However, for the coach, Rodrygo remains key at Real Madrid.
“We all know what qualities he has. He did very well in these two games: he scored against Mallorca and contributed a lot against Atalanta. When we have such an attacking team, the forwards have to work a little harder and he is doing very well,” concluded Ancelotti.
Real Madrid will now make their home debut in LaLiga on Sunday against Valladolid, where they will seek to earn their first three points, having drawn 1-1 against Mallorca.
