Mexican player Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano was back in the spotlight in the Eredivisie by scoring a goal and providing an assist in PSV’s 1-7 thrashing of Almere.
‘Chucky’ provided the assist for the third goal for the red-and-whites and was later in charge of scoring the sixth, giving him three goals so far this Eredivisie season.
Lozano made his first start of the season for PSV Eindhoven against Almere City after coming on as a substitute in the first two games of the 2024/2025 Eredivisie campaign.
PSV Eindhoven needed just 15 minutes to make it 2-0 in their favour. In the 10th minute, Guus Til sent the ball into the net to complete a counterattack. In the 15th minute, Luuk de Jong scored the second goal from a corner kick.
Almere City came close to scoring in the 57th minute with a goal from Kornelius Hansen, but in the 65th minute ‘Chucky’ Lozano orchestrated the third play for PSV Eindhoven. The Mexican took the ball on the right flank, cut back to the centre to evade his opponents, until he reached the opponent’s area, where he assisted Couhaib Driouech.
After PSV Eindhoven’s third goal, Almere City could not recover and conceded four more goals in the remaining 25 minutes. In the 71st minute, Malik Tillman scored the fourth for the red-and-whites and in the 78th minute an own goal by Theo Barbert made it 1-5 on the scoreboard.
‘Chucky’ Lozano was the man in charge of making it six for PSV Eindhoven. The Mexican got behind the centre-backs after a clearance from his defence, stood in front of the opposition goal and sent the ball into the net with a right-footed shot. In the 90th minute, Ricardo Pepi made it 1-7.
Before the match against Almere City, ‘Chucky’ Lozano had played 42 minutes in the first two matches of the season.
The Mexican scored two goals in the 5-1 win over RKC Waalwijk and then left without contributing any goals in the 1-3 win over Heracles Almelo.
