The life of the late basketball player Kobe Bryant will be told through a comic book by the company TidalWave Comics through its Tribute saga, where they pay tribute to influential people from around the world.
According to the description issued by TidalWave Comics itself this Friday, in 22 pages it will be possible to trace Bryant’s life and journey through basketball, from his beginnings in the sport to his retirement and subsequent death in a helicopter accident in 2020.
The book will be written by Michael Frizell and illustrated by Pablo Martinena and will be officially launched on August 28, days after what would have been his 45th birthday on August 23.
‘Tribute: Kobe Bryant’ will be available in two formats (digital and print) and in the case of the physical edition, it will have two editions, one softcover and one hardcover, while the pocket edition will feature a unique cover designed by Martinena.
TidalWave Comics editor Darren G. Davis explained that the ‘Tribute’ comic series is dedicated to honoring the legacies of those icons who have left us.
“It is our way of paying tribute to those who have had a lasting impact on the world,” he stressed.
Bryant’s relentless pursuit of excellence, combined with his exceptional talent and fierce competitiveness, led him to lead the Lakers to five NBA championships, earn 18 All-Star selections and be named NBA MVP in 2008.
Beyond his illustrious basketball career, Kobe was an advocate for youth sports and education and even cemented his legacy by winning an Oscar for his emotional short film, ‘Dear Basketball,’ in 2018.
