Two men were killed when a pickup truck traveling the wrong way on Henry Hudson Parkway struck their car early Saturday, leaving one of the vehicles on fire, authorities said.
Two other cars were involved in the fatal incident.
A video shows one of the cars on fire while traffic is stopped.
The incident began around 2:30 a.m., when the SUV somehow ended up heading south on the northbound lane of the tree-lined Henry Hudson Parkway on Manhattan’s West Side.
Shortly after, the truck collided with a Dodge Challenger that was coming in the opposite direction and in which the fatal victims were traveling, one aged 40 and the other 38.
Emergency medical services took Kirk Walker, 40, to Harlem Hospital and Robert McLaurin, 38, of North Carolina, to New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
Two other vehicles collided, but no other injuries were reported, the Daily News reported.
After the main collision, the driver got out of his wrecked truck and began to flee. His passenger remained at the scene and was being questioned by officers.
No arrests have been made in this regard.
The northbound lanes were closed for several hours as authorities investigated the fatal crash.
