Andrea Radfor, who was going to represent Guatemala at Miss Universe 2024, had to give up the crown because she is pregnant.
In a video she shared on her Instagram account, she talked about this important news, which left her out of the edition that will be held this year in Mexico.
“I have always felt very proud to be Guatemalan. Since I was little, my dream was to raise the name of my country and make its wonders and riches known internationally,” she said.
The beauty queen said she feels grateful to her fellow countrymen for the support they have given her. “I will treasure their love and affection forever, thank you for being the beautiful family that pushes me every day to be better and to keep moving forward.”
She also indicated that a wonderful story is about to begin in her life. “I am about to embark on an equally wonderful and blessed journey, that of being a mother. Yes, my family is growing and together with the person I love we are awaiting the arrival of our first baby. I want to thank you for every applause, every word of encouragement, every prayer that I felt like a hug from afar,” she added.
In addition to this, she thanked: “My Guatemalan family, today I want to thank each and every one of you for accompanying me in every dream and every achievement that we have lived together. I want to tell you that now I am embarking on another long-awaited dream, that of being a mother. My love for seeing Guatemala grow in front of the world does not stop and now I will be more inspired, stronger and very well accompanied. I want to share with you as a family this news that fills me with emotion and joy, but also thank you for every show of affection, for all the support that drives me to continue forward. We love you very much.”
