Star wrestler and emblem of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Sycho Sid Vicious lost the battle against cancer that took his life at the age of 63.
Through social media, WWE and various legends confirmed the fact and sent farewell messages to one of the icons of wrestling in the United States in the 80s and 90s.
On X, the company confirmed the death with a short statement. “WWE is saddened to learn that Sid Eudy has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Eudy’s family, friends and fans,” they said.
Quoting WWE’s statement, one of its legends and now manager, Triple H, expressed his regret over the incident and extended his condolences to the family.
“Two-time WWE Champion. The ruler and master of the world. Few performers in the history of our business have had the look, the intensity and the ability to connect with audiences like Sid. My thoughts are with Sid’s family, friends and fans,” he posted.
What did he die of?
On Facebook, his son Gunnar revealed that the reason for his father’s death was due to a terminal illness. In this case, cancer.
“I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness and love, and his presence will be greatly missed,” she wrote.
Sid Vicious stood out in the decade between 1980 and 1990. He was involved in rivalries against stars such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, among others. Also known as Sid Justice, born in Arkansas in December 1960, he became WWE and WCW champion.
He was a striking wrestler, standing over two metres tall and weighing over 200 pounds. His last match for WWE was in 2017. On two occasions he was the star of the main event at Wrestlemania.
