British band Oasis, 15 years after their breakup, officially announced their return through a statement.

In the letter, the band mentioned, through a series of allegories: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The long wait is over. Come and see. It will not be televised,” their return to the music scene through a world tour.

The above has, logically, caused euphoria and enthusiasm among their fans to see the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, together again after years of maintaining a long feud. However, this announcement could become a real milestone due to the high demand for tickets for their shows in England, which could surpass the huge numbers obtained by the American Taylor Swift with her “The Eras Tour”.

Will Oasis leave Taylor Swift behind?

According to music expert Kevin McManus, speaking to ITV News, Oasis’ comeback could become a true “phenomenon” and make Swift’s achievements in Britain fall into oblivion.

To illustrate this, McManus continued what the band had done in previous years with a couple of dates, which mobilized the entire population to get a ticket to see Oasis.

At the two Knebworth shows, almost 4 per cent of the population tried to get Oasis tickets. They sold 250,000 tickets, but it was a ridiculous amount of people trying to buy tickets, they were so big.”

For this reason, the music expert did not hesitate to mention that the expectation and excitement of seeing the Gallagher brothers, and the rest of the band, would surpass the interpreter of “Shake It Off!”, who broke Michael Jackson’s record by performing at the legendary Wembley Stadium on 8 occasions.

But this, as people have been talking about it for the last decade, is going to be even bigger. I think everyone is going to try and get a ticket. Taylor Swift was obviously the big thing this summer, but I think Oasis are going to completely eclipse that, just because it’s them and it’s talked about.

Kevin McManus’ statement would carry even more weight considering Spotify’s recent report, which revealed that following the announcement of Oasis’ return, it has caused an increase of more than 160% worldwide in the number of streams of the band’s music catalogue.
