oasis-tickets-fetch-up-to-$7,000-on-resaleOasis tickets fetch up to $7,000 on resale

Just minutes after the first batch of tickets for Oasis’ UK comeback concerts went on sale, it was revealed that some tickets had begun selling for up to $7,000 on resale.

According to the BBC, the prices offered are more than 40 times higher than standing room only on resale websites such as StubHub and Viagogo.

As mentioned, tickets for the English band’s opening show in Cardiff, inside the Principality Stadium, are offered from $1,202 dollars to $5,933 dollars.

Meanwhile, at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, standing room only tickets are on offer for up to $5,000.

Oasis warns fans about reselling

Following the announcement of ticket prices for the return of the band led by Liam and Noel Gallagher, the group issued a warning in a statement to the BBC, urging fans not to buy tickets through this means.

Oasis have issued a crackdown on ticket scalping for their comeback tour, after some appeared to sell for thousands of pounds within minutes of a pre-sale on Friday.

Similarly, and as part of this strategy to avoid reselling, the band mentioned the official sites to buy this type of tickets: “We have noticed that there are people trying to sell tickets on the secondary market since the start of the pre-sale. Please note that tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, through @Ticketmaster and @Twickets.”

Only right we run it back to 2009.

Oasis could surpass Taylor Swift

Days after Oasis announced their UK tour, music expert Kevin McManus revealed to ITV News that demand to see the band in the UK could easily surpass what Taylor Swift did with her recent “The Eras Tour.”

But this, as people have been talking about it for the last decade, is going to be even bigger. I think everyone is going to try and get a ticket. Taylor Swift was obviously the big thing this summer, but I think Oasis are going to completely eclipse that, just because it’s them and it’s talked about.”

McManus’ statement takes on added force given recent figures from Spotify, which revealed that the number of streams of Oasis’ music increased by 160% worldwide following the announcement of their comeback.
