As tempting as it may be to buy $1.25 at Dollar Tree, one TikToker warns that some cleaning products should be avoided for containing toxic chemicals.

Denise, who goes by the handle @franklin_thebulldog, is an influencer with 135,000 followers on TikTok. She is a professional house cleaner based in Michigan, and her fans flock to her videos for cleaning tips, product reviews, and tutorials.

Denise recently shared a post featuring the Dollar Tree cleaning products she avoids because she considers them toxic.

The influencer said she avoids using the popular Fabuloso products at all costs: “This product is extremely toxic and dangerous for pets and humans.”

Denise also dislikes Homebright’s disinfectant spray because of its smell. And while The Works’ Classic Clean toilet bowl cleaner can be used in a pinch, she finds the cleaner isn’t “thick enough” and doesn’t “coat the toilet bowl” like a good bathroom cleaner should.

Denise avoids cleaning products that contain bleach because of the damage they can cause, including Los Angeles Totally Awesome Cleaner, Comet Kitchen Cleaner, and Sun-Pine Bleach Cleaner.

The cleaning supply shopping expert also avoids Dollar Tree’s twin-pack toilet bowl cleaners because “they smell bad and don’t work as well,” while warning that toilet bowl cleaner tablets can cause problems with plumbing.

Denise’s alternatives

For Denise, the Oxydol brand of dish soap should not be purchased, as “it does not work as well as Dawn.”

For cleaning windows and mirrors, it’s best to use Windex instead of the cleaner from Totally Awesome in Los Angeles, says the expert.

He also commented that “Ajax is like Fabulous,” but he doesn’t think it works as well as Lysol cleaner.
