Former Brazilian footballer Douglas Costa, known for his time at Juventus and other big clubs, decided to take a new direction in his career by announcing his incorporation into the OnlyFans platform.

This was announced shortly after Costa confirmed his recent signing for Sydney FC, a team in Australia’s A-League Men.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Costa is following the example of other athletes who have chosen to join OnlyFans, a platform that is expanding its creator base in various sectors to compete with giants such as YouTube and TikTok.

“I decided to join OnlyFans because I believe in the company’s credibility and its potential for global reach,” Costa said in a press release issued by Metro, a Los Angeles-based PR agency.

With experience at teams such as Bayern Munich and LA Galaxy, Costa sees OnlyFans as a unique opportunity to connect more intimately with his followers. In his words, “As an OnlyFans influencer, I will create exclusive content for my fans that they won’t be able to see on any other social media, and that will make a huge difference,” Costa said in the statement.

Although OnlyFans has traditionally been associated with adult content, the platform is attempting to diversify and appeal to a wider audience.

Costa’s OnlyFans account was activated on August 8 and is currently free. On his profile, the former footballer has shared images from his time with previous teams and a short video of him boxing, uploaded four days before the confirmation of his two-year contract with Sydney FC.
