A new FIFA date window opens from September 6 to 10. In this window, the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers will be played in Conmebol and AFC; in addition to the Nations League in Concacaf, UEFA and the qualification for the African Cup of Nations.

This is why the vast majority of football leagues around the world are on a short break these days. Among them is Major League Soccer in the United States, which has gained importance year after year and now provides a large number of players to the national teams that will play on this FIFA date.

In total, and including the call-ups to the Under-21 championships, the MLS provides a total of 86 players to the different national teams that will compete in the Qualifiers, Nations League or qualifiers prior to international championships.

On this date, FIFA may have called up the most outstanding MLS player to his national team, Uruguayan Luis Suárez. He will face Paraguay at home on the seventh date of the Conmebol Qualifiers, and it will also be his last match with the Celeste.

Other notable players include Peruvians Luis Abram of Atlanta United and Pedro Gallese of Orlando City, as well as Georgian Saba Lobjanidze, who recently played in the European Championship, and Costa Rican Alonso Martínez of New York City FC.

The franchise that contributes the most players to the national teams is Minnesota United with seven called up. Among them are Michael Boxall (New Zealand), Robin Lod (Finland), Tani Oluwaseyi (Canada), Teemu Pukki (Finland), Joseph Rosales (Honduras), Dayne St. Clair (Canada) and Zarek Valentin (Puerto Rico).

On the other hand, the national team that receives the most players from the MLS is Canada, with up to 12 players from the North American team playing in the American league.
