Former US First Lady Melania Trump announced Thursday that her memoir, due out October 1, will share her perspective and “the truth.”

In a video posted on her social media, the wife of former President Donald Trump explained that her intention is to “clarify the facts” and make known her version of the events that have surrounded her public life.

“I have been subject to public scrutiny and misrepresentation,” said Melania, 54, who stressed that writing these memoirs has been “a deeply personal journey.”

Throughout the message, the former Slovenian model shared images from her youth, from her international trips as a representative of the White House and two fleeting photographs with her husband, one at an official event and another of both of them when they were young.

Unlike other books by public figures, Melania’s content has not been leaked or released to the press, which has generated great expectations about how the former first lady will address key issues in her life, including her relationship with Donald Trump, from whom she has been apparently estranged in recent years.

The website where the book can be pre-ordered describes it as a work that invites readers into Melania’s “world,” offering “an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life.”

Difficult journey

In an interview with Fox News last month, Melania said the journey has not been easy “although it can be daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength and the beauty of sharing my truth.”

This release comes just a month before the elections, which has increased the attention surrounding its publication.

The printed version of Melania will be available at different prices, ranging from $40 to $150, with the latter edition signed by the author and including “extra photographs.”

An electronic version has also been announced for purchase on Amazon for $18. The publishing house Skyhorse, which is responsible for publishing the book, has reported that the book has already reached the number one spot in the ‘US Presidents’ category on that platform.

With 256 pages, the book promises to offer previously unpublished details about Melania Trump’s life.

The former Republican president has promoted the book, saying: “If you love our former First Lady as much as I do and are ready for the truth, buy her new book!”
