In the January transfer window, FC Barcelona paid Atlético Paranaense $45 million dollars for the transfer of Vitor Roque. The young 19-year-old striker thus joined one of Europe’s biggest clubs at a difficult time financially.

However, the Brazilian did not have the opportunities he had hoped for at the Catalan team. In that half-season he only started two games, playing 326 minutes and scoring two goals.

At the start of the current season, FC Barcelona decided to release the player and signed a loan with an option to buy with Betis. Therefore, his time with the Blaugrana team was very short.

And recently in a press conference with the Brazilian U-20s, “Tigrinho”, as he is often nicknamed, commented on his departure from the Spanish team.

“I think it was difficult in general. I thought they were going to treat me differently, both in the way I treated them and in the way they talked to me from the board. But that’s over now, I’m happy to have the opportunity at Betis and to wear the national team shirt again,” explained the striker.

The young forward also explained that he has always relied on psychological help to deal with these types of situations in his life. Because leaving FC Barcelona affected him in a certain way.

“I have always been in therapy, with a mental coach. He has always helped me, since I was 16, when I also went through some obstacles. Today I try to do it too, it has helped me a lot to overcome several obstacles,” she explained.

Roque even said that before his departure he tried to speak with the FC Barcelona board, but he couldn’t get anywhere. “When I left, I did speak. One of the first times. I tried to understand why many things happened, which I won’t tell you about here. Betis welcomed me very well, I’m very happy to be there and to have the opportunity to play there,” Vitor Roque concluded.
