Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez shared a video on social media announcing that he has completed his training camp, just one week before his highly anticipated fight at the T-Mobile Arena against Edgar Berlanga.
“End of camp. We did the work and now it’s time to prove it,” reads the post, accompanied by images highlighting the most intense moments of their preparation, such as tireless sparring sessions, long runs, strength and endurance exercises, and work with mitts.
The video ends with a powerful phrase: “This is already written,” along with the date and place of the expected confrontation against Edgar Berlanga.
Canelo also took advantage of his stories to show a new t-shirt design, inspired by the clothing that some restaurants use to promote their businesses.
The shirt features a plate with a red boxing glove in the center and the fictitious name of Canelo’s business, “Canelo’s,” accompanied by the slogan: “Fine restaurant, serving punches. Open every day since 1990,” in reference to his year of birth, as well as the number “1-800-KNOCKOUT.”
Next Saturday, September 14, Canelo will face Berlanga in a super middleweight (168 pounds) bout, reviving the historic boxing rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico, two nations that have produced numerous world champions and unforgettable fights in the history of the sport.
