La Divaza spoke about the departure of Edmundo González from Venezuela, an opposition figure who claims to have won the presidential elections on July 28.
In a video he uploaded to his TikTok account, the content creator said: “Well, guys, just as I have given good news, I also have to give bad news. Edmundo, the president-elect of Venezuela, has just left for Spain. He left after an arrest warrant had been issued and he was sheltering in the Spanish embassy. Then the Spanish government agreed with the Venezuelan dictatorship to be able to get him out. The Minister of Foreign Affairs said it was at his request.”
La Divaza explained that Delcy Rodríguez, vice president of the Government of Nicolás Maduro, was the one who officially shared the news and clarified that the decision was made for the “peace” of Venezuela.
The former participant of La Casa de los Famosos 4 clarified that María Corina Machado is still in the country and that it is positive that Edmundo González is away because he can ask for help from other governments.
“I’m kind of confused, kid, because we need him alive by January 10, but he should go like this. Remember that in chess, the king is always protected, and besides, the man is like 75, he’s old, so he might have a heart attack, a blood pressure, I don’t know, kid, we’ll wait,” she added.
The departure of Edmundo González has caused confusion among Venezuelans, since he led the fight to achieve change in the country alongside María Corina Machado.
However, the opposition leader indicated that efforts will not stop, but that they have only reconfigured their strategy.
“On January 10, 2025, President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia will be sworn in as Constitutional President of Venezuela and Commander-in-Chief of the National Armed Forces. Let this be very clear to everyone: Edmundo will fight from outside alongside our diaspora and I will continue to do so here, alongside you,” wrote the national coordinator of Vente Venezuela on her X account.
