Former US First Lady Melania Trump on Sunday denounced what she called “efforts to silence” her husband, former President Donald Trump, in the wake of the 2020 presidential election won by Joe Biden.

The United States, she wrote on Instagram, “is more divided today than ever before. It has become increasingly clear that there are significant challenges to freedom of expression, as demonstrated by the efforts to silence my husband.”

“The results of the 2020 election changed our lives forever. They affected our quality of life, the cost of food, safety, and even the political landscape,” he added.

The former first lady’s comments come ahead of her memoir, “Melania,” which is set to be published Oct. 8, just under a month before the Nov. 5 presidential election.

In the 256-page book, Melania vowed to tell her truth. This week she said she intends to “set the record straight” and make known her version of the events surrounding her public life.

“I have been subject to public scrutiny and misrepresentation,” said Melania, 54, who stressed that writing these memoirs has been “a deeply personal journey.”

In her previous message, the former Slovenian model shared images from her youth, from her international trips as a representative of the White House and two fleeting photographs with former President Trump, one at an official event and another of both of them when they were young.

Prices for “Melania” range from $40 to $150 in print, with the latter edition signed by the author and including “extra photographs.”

An electronic version has also been announced for purchase on Amazon for $18. The publishing house Skyhorse, which is responsible for publishing the book, has reported that the book has already reached the number one spot in the ‘US Presidents’ category on that platform.
