In a meeting with the press, host Paul Stanley assured that he has no rivalry with Mario Bezares, current participant of the second season of La Casa de los Famosos México, and who was in prison on suspicion of the murder of Paco Stanley on June 7, 1999.
Bezares remained in prison for just over a year, but was released in 2001 after the charges against him were dismissed due to lack of conclusive evidence.
Asked whether he would be willing to smooth things over with Bezares, Stanley said:
“I have nothing to fix with him. So much time has passed and so many things have happened. Time will tell. I have never been closed to anything,” he said.
When a reporter asked him if there was any resentment or negative feelings towards Mario in his heart, Paul said yes.
“Let me put it back into context. Of course they say: ‘To remember is to live’. So, remembering all those tragic moments that I lived in my childhood, even though time passes, it is not easy to turn them around,” said the host.
Although there is no relationship between the two hosts, it was well known that the day Bezares was invited to HOY, Stanley left the set.
“I wish him and his family well. May God bless them. If he wins, great. I wish everyone in the House of the Famous, because I lived through it, that they do well and that they come out well.”
Paul Stanley talks about the friendship between Mario Bezares and Arath de la Torre
In the second season of the reality show, “Mayito” maintains a friendship with Arath de la Torre, Stanley’s colleague and friend on the morning show.
“Arath and I are adults, he can get along with whoever he wants. Arath, when he gets out, will continue to be my friend and, surely, he will continue to be Mario’s friend, because Arath is a good friend. There is no point in talking about me, let them talk nicely, not to screw someone over,” Stanley commented.
Paul Stanley assured that he will now be on the morning show if Mario Bezares is expelled from La Casa de los Famosos México.
“The doors are open to everyone. Whatever they ask me to do, I will be there. I have no reason to censor anyone,” Stanley concluded.
