Runadieo Jordan was arrested on suspicion of attacking a New York City subway passenger with a machete in the Bronx.

Jordan, 54, was arrested Tuesday and charged with a number of counts, including attempted murder, in the assault that occurred early on the morning of Aug. 31 aboard a northbound Line 2 train.

According to the NYPD, Jordan was arguing with a 31-year-old man on the train around 1:15 a.m. The situation turned violent when the suspect pulled out a machete as they arrived at the Allerton Avenue station and used it on the other passenger.

Jordan allegedly punched the other man multiple times, leaving him with injuries to his arm, hands and head, police said. The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the station and was on the run until Tuesday. He has now been charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment. All charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This is not Jordan’s first brush with the law as he was previously accused of stabbing another man also on a line 2 train in June 2022, he added. New York Post.

Since taking office in January 2022, Mayor Eric Adams, a former NYPD officer, has announced several times that he would double the number of police officers on the chaotic NYC Subway. But violence and fare evasion have continued.

Last week, a 47-year-old passenger, the brother of an MTA train conductor, was shot in the head and killed on his way to work at the Rockaway Ave. station in Brooklyn.

In late August, a man recently released from prison was killed when he was attacked with his own knife during a confrontation on a subway train in the Bronx.
