The president of Tigres de la UANL, Mauricio Culebro, decided to speak about the situation that the club was going through with the future of the Brazilian Samir Caetano and assured that the defender will remain within the organization for the remainder of the 2024 Apertura tournament of the Liga MX and has already been permanently registered.
The director made these statements during an interview with Mediotiempo, where he explained that the South American player will remain at the club as his departure from the university institution has not been recorded.
“The window closes on Saturday and Samir is a Tigres player, he is a professional and he is always ready to contribute to the institution and any player who is ready to contribute will be welcome. As Pauno said a while ago, the idea is for Samir to join the first team and continue contributing and for us to support him so that we can continue making this team stronger,” he said.
The president of Tigres explained that the club’s objective is to have the best possible performance and that has been reflected in this start of competition by remaining undefeated in the first six rounds of the Apertura tournament and placing second in the general table with a total of 14 points accumulated as a result of four wins and two draws.
“The idea we always pursue is to continue making these additions and continue strengthening the team. Of course we are satisfied, the tournament is starting and Pauno’s idea and the one we as a board want to put into the team with the signings are starting to be noticed, and there is still a long way to go, we hope to continue on that path,” he added.
“That speaks well of the institution. If you watch the event today and listen to the testimonies of the students and what we want to do to inspire these new generations and society, I think that is the reflection of what happens at Tigres and why these players cannot say no to Tigres. Not only because of what happens on the field but off it,” he concluded.
