Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara do not want to give up on the current Apertura 2024 tournament of the Liga MX and for this reason they continue to protect various members of their squad in order to have the best possible organization in order to be able to lift the champion title that has eluded them in recent years.

For this reason, the team made official the renewal of goalkeeper Raúl ‘Tala’ Rangel, who will remain defending the red-and-white goals until 2028 with the aim of giving the team stability in one of the most important areas of the field.

“The Chiverío goalkeeper is about to complete 1 year of his debut in Liga MX, time that has been enough for him to demonstrate his quality between the 3 posts. Of the 33 matches he has played as a professional, he has hung a 0 in his goal in 13 occasions. Such has been Rangel’s impact in the Guadalajara goal, that he already knows what it is like to play a Semifinal in the top circuit, of course with his contribution from the red and white team, in which he has given some anthological saves,” says the club in its statement.

“If this were not enough, Raúl has already represented our country on a couple of occasions and is emerging as one of the strongest candidates to wear the Mexican National Team uniform at the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States and Canada, where he will have the opportunity to play at his home, the Akron Stadium,” Chivas added.

Tala Rangel has played a total of 33 official matches with Chivas de Guadalajara, starting all of them. He has also played 2,896 minutes and kept a total of 13 clean sheets.

Ruben Gonzalez also renewed

The team also announced the renewal of Rubén ‘Oso’ González, who will remain within the organization until 2027 with the aim of maintaining the team’s solid projection in its search for good results under the orders of Fernando Gago.

“The good news ahead of El Clásico de México doesn’t stop, as this Friday we made it official that Rubén González has renewed his contract and will remain with Guadalajara until 2027. That’s right, Chivahermanos, we’ll have ‘Oso’ for a while, because thanks to the efforts of the Guadalajara board, which remains busy strengthening the team’s foundations, the Rebaño midfield will have the number 28 for several more years,” says Chivas.

“He has played 77 Liga MX matches with Guadalajara, in which he has played 4,187 minutes, scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist. However, his contribution goes beyond the qualitative, since the ‘Oso’ is one of those midfielders who performs under any circumstance and who collaborates from pressing to the correct distribution of the ball,” the text concludes.
