Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé scored his third goal in LaLiga on Saturday and his fourth since signing for Los Merengues during the 2-0 away win over Real Sociedad, and after the match he said he felt better and better wearing that shirt.
Speaking after the match where he scored from the 12-yard line, Mbappé explained that he increasingly hopes to increase the chemistry with Vinícius Jr. in order to help the team achieve three points in each match.
“We knew before the game that it was going to be difficult and in the end we won. We suffered a bit playing against a great team but we go home with what we want, which is victory. We have to continue like this because we have to win many games to get where we want to be,” he said on Real Madrid TV.
“I feel better with each game, I understand what the team, the manager and my teammates need. I feel better and I’m sure I’ll be better on Tuesday to win at the start of the Champions League,” he added.
Mbappé has already pointed to the European match against Stuttgart, stressing the importance of starting the Champions League well with the new format. He will fulfil his dream of playing in the competition he yearns to win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
“It is a very important competition, as I said on the first day I came to Real Madrid to experience these kinds of nights. I am very focused on winning and getting off to a good start in a new competition like the Champions League, which has changed. We have to get off to a good start,” he said.
He praised the Brazilian Vinícius and assured Mbappé that it does not matter who takes the penalties for Real Madrid, as long as they end in a goal.
“The truth is that we try to find each other in the match and in training to create this connection because we know that we can help the team. Vinícius is a great player and I am very happy to play with him at Real Madrid.”
“The important thing about the penalties is that all four were goals. Who takes them is not important, what is important is that they are goals,” he concluded.
