Three dramatic deaths occurred yesterday in New York, with two victims attacked from behind in the street and another shot in the head in his home.

The first case happened yesterday at dawn in Brooklyn: a 52-year-old man stabbed in the back drove himself to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. He was found outside around 6:15 a.m., but could not be saved.

It is unclear exactly where he was attacked, reportedly near the hospital. His name was not released as police sought to first notify his next of kin. Doctors who examined him found two stab wounds in his back, police said. Daily News.

The victim’s car was still parked outside the hospital on Friday. The vehicle was cordoned off by detectives as they continued their investigation, and as they searched for surveillance footage in the area that could help identify the killer.

Hours later, last night around 7:20 p.m. police responded to a call from a two-family home on 96th St. near 34th Ave. in North Corona, Queens. Outside they found the victim, 23-year-old Jean Pierre Rengifo Arteaga, shot in the head, right forearm and stomach.

He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital but could not be saved. Police did not release a motive for the shooting and were canvassing the area for surveillance footage that could help them identify the gunman.

Shortly afterward, at around 9:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot and killed in the back outside a hair salon on Anthony Ave. near E. Tremont Ave. in Morris Heights in the Bronx. EMS rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital but were unable to save him. His name was not immediately released.

It was the end of a very violent week in NYC, with at least five people killed in shootings between Monday and Wednesday: three Hispanics, a Jamaican immigrant who had recently arrived in the city, and a native Chinese mother shot in front of her family during a cell phone robbery in her residential building in Lower Manhattan.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified in any of these cases. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) and for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
