LaLiga leaders Barcelona crushed Girona with a resounding 1-4 win, securing their fifth consecutive victory in the 2024-2025 season of the EA Sports LaLiga in Spain.

The match was marked by a great performance by youngster Lamine Yamal, who opened the scoring in the 30th minute, taking advantage of an error by defender David López, stealing the ball from him and finishing with a cross shot to put Barça ahead.

Shortly afterwards, in the 37th minute, Yamal appeared again after a clearance from the Girona defence following a foul, scoring his second goal with a precise shot from the edge of the area.

Barcelona were the clear dominators of the match and sealed the game in the second half. In the 47th minute, Dani Olmo received a through ball from Jules Kounde and, with almost no angle, scored with a powerful shot that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance to make it 3-0 for the Catalans.

Barcelona’s fourth goal came in the 70th minute, when Pedri, after an excellent pass between the lines from Marc Casadó, got past the goalkeeper and calmly finished to seal the rout.

Although Girona tried to react, they only managed to score the consolation goal in the 80th minute, when Cristhian Stuani scored after a pass from Portu, leaving the final score at 1-4.

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have now won five games in a row in Spain’s top flight, scoring a whopping 17 goals in five games.
