A 10-year-old girl lost her life after falling from a window of a building in the Bronx after allegedly being left alone at home, sources reported.

Authorities received a call to 2157 Southern Boulevard in the East Tremont section of the Bronx around 8:45 p.m. Thursday for a report of a toddler who had fallen out of a building window.

The girl may have been home alone when she fell, while authorities say she had injuries indicative of a fall from a great height, including bruises on her feet, police sources said Sunday.

The girl was vomiting blood when she was taken by private vehicle to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police sources say.

They also said that the girl and her mother had argued about the use of the iPad that same day.

The mother left at 4:30 in the afternoon for a doctor’s appointment.

When she arrived home, she found her daughter lying in the courtyard outside her building, the sources added.

Officials were reviewing surveillance video to try to determine if the girl was being supervised by someone and fell from a window or roof.

A resident who has lived in the building for more than 30 years said she called 911 without knowing she was calling about her neighbor’s daughter, the New York Post reported.

“My son called me and told me to call 911,” the neighbor said. “I called 911 and they kept asking me questions. I thought something had happened to someone who got off the bus with him.” [su hijo]“I didn’t know she was the daughter of my neighbor who lived upstairs.”

When they arrived downstairs, the girl’s family had already put her in a taxi to take her to the hospital, the woman added.

“Their mother was very, very good. A decent mother. She lives above me. They kept those kids very nice and clean,” he said. “I feel sorry for the mother. I feel sorry for the mother.”

“The girl was very quiet. I would tease her and say, ‘Oh, you look so nice,’” she recalls. “She was a sweetheart.”

The city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of the infant’s death, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said.

So far, no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made in this case.
