Spanish singer Marta Sánchez has once again spoken out in support of Karol G following a series of criticisms and accusations that the Colombian singer has received following her duet with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

In her most recent interview with Mexican media, the 58-year-old singer was questioned about the unfavorable comments that dozens of people have made against Karol G, which highlight the “inequality of talents” between the legendary tenor and the South American artist.

In response to this, the Spaniard pointed out that, for her, the 33-year-old artist performed a performance that was in keeping with the song, “Vivo per lei,” and added her own style. She also mentioned that the criticism has been very harsh and even exaggerated.

She sang it beautifully, she put her personality into it and I think the criticism has been a bit abusive, exaggerated, because she has a personality and she has captured it in this song.”

Marta Sánchez alludes to Bocelli’s choice

According to the author of “Dime la Verdad,” who performed the same song with Boccelli in 1996, Karol G’s performance deserves recognition due to the choice of the Italian to carry out the collaboration.

I think she has the right, like anyone else, to sing whatever song she wants, and Bocelli called her, so there must be a reason, because Bocelli is not stupid.

Marta Sánchez wants to be friends with Karol G

Prior to her recent interview, Marta Sánchez was one of the first artists to show her support and backing for Karol G after the release of the song, which is part of the album celebrating Bocelli’s 30-year career: “Duets”.

Through social media, Sánchez congratulated the Colombian for her collaboration, in addition to mentioning the pride she gave to her mother and the inspiration and guidance she generated with her work.

These words motivated Karol G herself to write a message of gratitude to the Spaniard, who revealed in her recent chat the happiness she got from seeing the Colombian’s words on her phone: “I was very happy that she wrote to me in private, because I don’t have her personal phone, and she wrote me a letter like that, very long, beautiful, saying very nice things and I already want to be friends with Karol too.”

So far, Karol G has not made any public statements regarding her duet with Andrea Bocelli and Marta Sánchez’s words.
