Emiliano Brancciari, vocalist, guitarist and one of the founders of the Uruguayan alternative rock band, No Te Va Gustar, used to play music with his group with the sole intention of having a good time with friends and having fun.
It’s been 30 years since 1994 and he’s still playing, but now the difference is that he and his seven companions are playing in front of hundreds of thousands of people. This whole year they have been involved in the celebrations of the 30 years of the career of this combo from Montevideo.
“It’s a very beautiful tour,” said Emiliano from the Uruguayan capital, where the group was taking a short break. “We celebrate it by working.”
The Tour 30, as the tour is called, has already visited places like Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Denmark and Peru. This week it begins its tour of the United States, although only in Miami, New York – this Saturday – and Washington and Charlotte. The reason is that there are many venues and there is not enough time to visit more places, said Emiliano.
“We have been going around everywhere and we have received a lot of love,” he said. “People are very happy and so are we; we are super happy with everything that is happening this year.”
The closing of Gira 30 will be on December 14 in their native Montevideo, in a paradisiacal setting that will be set up next to the sea on the city’s promenade. But the closing is just a manner of speaking, because in 2025 they will take the tour to places they could not go to due to calendar issues.
All the shows have been memorable and magical, said the vocalist, but the one in Bogotá was so special that the band recently announced the release of “Desde acá que cerca queda el cielo,” which will premiere on October 12.
A few days ago, NTVG released the first preview of this album, a single titled “Memorias del olvido–En vivo en Bogotá.” The album was recorded and filmed live on February 22 at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá, and was the largest individual concert in the history of the band in Colombia.
“It was amazing, people were so excited,” Emiliano said.
The band has ten studio albums and is already preparing to release a new one, something that will happen in 2025. This event would mark a new path in the career of the boys from NTVG.
“We plan to record another album to renew ourselves,” said the musician, “to stop celebrating 30 years and look forward, as we like.”
