In December of last year, it was reported that Cardi B and her ex-partner Offset had been sued by the owners of a house in Beverly Hills, California, which the couple rented during the first half of 2022.

Recently, ‘TMZ’ shared new details about what appears to be a new lawsuit, but at the same time the rapper defended herself on her X account – former Twitter. Cardi B quoted a publication from the media where the note was shared and wrote: “Not so fast. Receipts below! Don’t make me put on my litigator wig.”

In the same post, she shares a video showing part of the conversation between her and the owner, and also shares proof of payment of $4,500 dollars.

In the new lawsuit obtained by ‘TMZ’, it is alleged that the couple lied to the owners about the use they would give to the residence, even being unaware that the guests would be Cardi B and Offset, since the couple’s agent assured that they were people who were simply recording a TikTok video.

However, the truth is that the couple used the property to film the music video for ‘Like What (Freestyle)’ and the residence is even an important part of the video, with an aerial view of the place appearing in the first few seconds.

The owners claim that not knowing the true use of the residence meant that they charged a paltry amount over what it would normally do. It should be remembered that this property has also been rented in the past by Justin Bieber and Logan Paul, who also filmed a video there.

The owner of the residence expects to receive at least $35,000, claiming damages.
