Filmmaker James Gunn has just invested millions of dollars in a mansion located in Bel Air, California. The main characteristic of this residence is that it once belonged to John Farrow and Maureen O’Sullivan, Hollywood stars and parents of Mia Farrow.
The property was purchased through a trust connected to Gunn and cost $8.5 million, although the property was initially listed for $8.9 million. For more details on the property, see the photos available on the Sotheby’s International Realty website.
It should be remembered that a couple of months ago a house in Malibu, California, entered the real estate market, which belonged to Gunn and other Hollywood stars such as Olivia Newton-John and Sally Field.
Returning to Gunn’s recent purchase, it should be noted that the property was originally built in the 1930s to the design of architect Arlos R. Sedgley. The house is known as “Greystoke Cottage.”
Although the property was built almost 100 years ago, it recently underwent a major renovation by John Cottrell, which sought to preserve many of the house’s original details.
The main house has an area of 4,300 square feet spread over two floors with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a foyer, living room, great room, movie theater, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.
Inside, the home features large windows, hardwood floors, a wood-paneled library, eye-catching chandeliers, arched doorways and more. The master bedroom has its own sitting area, fireplace, private balcony overlooking the green areas, walk-in closet and spa-like bathroom with tub.
Outside there are green areas with walkways, green areas, terrace, dining room, swimming pool, spa area and other spaces ideal for enjoying outdoors with family or friends.
