Verónica Torres is the wife of Leonel Moreno, known on social media as Leito Oficial. She has been in the spotlight following her husband’s arrest and the recent decision to deport him to Venezuela, his country.

Leonel Moreno, a Venezuelan migrant, was arrested in March by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after inciting other migrants to invade abandoned homes, based on a non-existent law.

Leonel Moreno’s arrest was reportedly a hard blow for Veronica. She was seen crying outside the Columbus, Ohio, Correctional Facility where her husband is being held.

Speaking to the media, the woman expressed her shock at the situation and said that at the time, she had not been able to see her husband since his arrest.

“We don’t know where they took him and I haven’t been able to see him,” he told The New York Post.

Verónica Torres, with whom Leonel Moreno has a two-year-old daughter, also gained notoriety on social media, where she frequently appeared in videos posted by her husband.

The couple used platforms like Instagram and TikTok to document their life as migrants in the United States, gaining a considerable following, despite the content being full of false information and incitement to commit crimes.

The controversy put the young woman in a difficult position due to media attention and public scrutiny. Her current situation is also uncertain and she has not shared any information on her social networks that would clarify how the Leito Oficial process has progressed.

In a recent post, Torres said: “I have a purpose in life, that’s why I endure the process.”

Like her husband, she entered the United States without legal documents and could face immigration consequences due to her status.

So far, no specific legal action has been announced against him. But his future in the country depends largely on the outcome of the Leonel Moreno case.
