Drinking green juice is an easy and effective way to increase the intake of valuable nutrients provided by vegetables and greens. Although there is no official recipe for this drink, ingredients such as spinach, celery, cucumber are used and, depending on the needs, other elements that help to obtain collagen are added, such as the recipe that we will share in this post.

Although it is not a substitute for a balanced and healthy diet, it does provide the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables such as essential vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds.

Combining fruits and vegetables can help increase collagen, a protein that represents 30% of the proteins we have in our body and is essential for skin, bones, tendons and cartilage.

Collagen “is the main protein structure of several connective tissues, constituting 80% of the dry weight of human skin,” reveals a study published by Nutrients.

For this reason, it is important to include foods in the diet that contribute to collagen production, such as those rich in vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants or supplements, since with age its natural production decreases, which contributes to skin aging and loss of elasticity.

  • Silica is an essential compound for skin health and necessary for collagen formation; we can obtain it from cucumber.
  • While spinach provides vitamin C and antioxidants that facilitate collagen production and protect against cell damage.
  • Other ingredients with vitamin C are lemon, which improves collagen absorption and acts as a powerful antioxidant. Green apple is rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals and help in collagen synthesis.

Recipe for the powerful green juice to rejuvenate

As we mentioned, there is no universal recipe for preparing green juice. In this case, to promote collagen production, we will include cucumber, apple, spinach, kiwi and celery. Below we detail the ingredients and how to prepare it.

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh spinach

1 cucumber

1 green apple

1 kiwi

The juice of 1 lemon

1 stalk of celery

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 cup of water

Preparation method:

Preparing green or nutritious juices is usually quite simple, you just have to wash all the ingredients well.

Then you must peel the kiwi and cut this fruit, apple, cucumber and celery into small pieces. Once they are cut, the fruits and vegetables are added to the blender, along with the lemon juice, chia seeds and water and blended until obtaining a homogeneous mixture.

It is recommended to serve and consume immediately to take advantage of the benefits of this delicious drink.
