Red Star vs. Partizan Belgrade is one of the most important derbies in Serbia. The match was put on the back burner and violence took center stage. Partizan lost at home 0-4 and the players, coach and technical staff ended up being attacked by fans.
The tensions flared and the most radical fans forced their way into the dressing room to attack players, coaches and members of the technical staff. At the end of the match, there was a small brawl in the tunnel involving Partizan players.
However, the incident did not escalate further thanks to police intervention. However, everything was tensely calm. Why? Later, a group of Serbian fans would break into the dressing room to violently attack the players by throwing objects.

Official version of the events
At the press conference after the match and the incident, the manager spoke about what happened and told his version of events. “The disgruntled fans broke the glass in the dressing room. The glass hit me and cut me.
“Nothing else happened.”
“If it had been 0-0 I wouldn’t have come, but I had to show respect. The fans broke the glass, it devastated me. We had blood on our faces,” he added.
