A Marina del Rey, California, home owned for 10 years by former basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is up for sale. The property is listed for $2.99 million.

The home hits the real estate market just months after Abdul-Jabbar suffered a fall that alarmed his fans, resulting in hip surgery and a three-month recovery.

The former basketball player, who played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, bought this house in 2011 and sold it in 2021 for $2.4 million dollars, exactly 10 years later. During his stay at the property, the athlete was in charge of making certain adaptations to the place, since he is over 2 meters tall and some parts of the house were too small for him.

This is one of the features that James Allan, the real estate agent in charge of the sale, highlights in his offer. Another of its features is that it is located in an exclusive area called Harbor Crossing Lane with few neighboring homes, which provides security and privacy to its owners.

The main house has an area of 3,500 square feet spread over three floors with four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, foyer, living room, great room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.

The interior of the property is notable for its wooden floors, large windows and white walls. The kitchen has chocolate-coloured cupboards and granite countertops. However, the place could be renovated to give it a more modern style.

In addition to the main house there is a garage with capacity for two vehicles.

Outside there are green areas, a barbecue area and a dining room to share with family or friends outdoors.
