The program El Gordo y la Flaca, hosted by Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina, regretted that they lost their star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame. This same situation occurred with the plaque of other entertainment figures.
Reporter David Valadez presented a work in the entertainment show in which he explained what happened in this situation.
“The millions of tourists who visit Las Vegas will no longer be able to see the stars of Raúl and Lili on the Paseo, as well as those of Jenni Rivera, Juan Gabriel, the band El Recodo, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Don Vicente Fernández and many others. ”, he commented.
In the material they interviewed Pablo Castro Zavala, president of the Las Vegas Walk of Fame, who gave details of what happened.
“All the stars that were there, 17 stars, the issue is that there were a series of repairs, renovations, for safety reasons, they put in some new poles,” he stated.
Because of this, they removed the plates and for now it is not known what will happen with these recognitions. “When you remove the stars they come out in a thousand pieces, apart from that the stars were already very damaged, deteriorated. We must take into account that the majority of these stars have been placed for more than 10 years.”
Another problem was vandalism, which caused several damages, especially to Lili Estefan and Juan Gabriel. “They took the bronze letters, which is equivalent to money, they put the letters on and then they stole three other letters again. The letters were stolen twice.”
What happened to the stars of Raúl de Molina and Lili Estefan in Las Vegas?
It is likely that in 2025 they will study when they will put up the plaques again to honor celebrities who have made great contributions to entertainment.
Castro Zavala stated that next year they will evaluate, when the repairs are finished, the date on which they could install them again.
Raúl de Molina regretted what happened, since they were together with figures such as Juan Gabriel or Jenni Rivera.
Lili Estefan, for her part, commented: “If they are rebuilding the street, obviously these stars have to suffer.”
The wish of both is that next year they will remake these plaques, since it was a recognition that they were granted in 2009.
