Kyle Arena was arrested and charged after an arsenal of firearms was found in his Totowa, New Jersey, home after displaying them on Facebook.

Arena, 35, was charged with multiple firearms violations. Local police said they received an anonymous tip on Tuesday, Sept. 24, that Arena had allegedly been engaging in reckless firearms activity and had a history of posting questionable content on various Facebook groups.

His father, Félix Arena (66), was also arrested for disorderly conduct, terrorist threats and resisting arrest. All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The content posted on Facebook ranged from pointing firearms at people while driving to photos of illegal items such as silencers. With the large amount of evidence from his social media posts, a judge granted Totowa police a search and seizure order called an “Extreme Risk Temporary Protection Order” to search the house where Arena lives with his parents, he detailed. Upon searching the home on Lincoln Avenue, authorities found 129 fully loaded illegal high-capacity magazines, thousands of ammunition, a collection of sharp knives and items used to construct and alter firearms.

With the assistance of dogs, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department bomb unit also seized four explosive items at the residence.

“I was shocked,” he told ABC News resident Ciro Abdondanza. “I would never have expected something of that magnitude to happen in Totowa.”
