This week Kanye West officially got rid of his controversial mansion in Malibu, California. The new owner is Bo Belmont, director of Belwood Investments, who achieved a reduction in the property’s price of $18 million.
Without a doubt, Bo Belmont has become a kind of savior, as he is willing to recover the impressive beachfront house that Tadao Andō designed and that West was responsible for destroying and leaving completely abandoned.
After the official closing of the sale, Belmont gave an interview to the ‘Los Angeles Times’ and described his intentions with the property and assured that his goal “is to make it seem like Kanye was never there. The house will be restored to what it was before.”
He also explained that after reviewing the place they were able to find that the structure is not damaged, which is great news. It appears that most of the changes that West and his team made were purely cosmetic. It must be remembered that the rapper assigned the renovation of the place to James Goldiest.
The new owner of the property said of West’s plans for the place: “It was a very stupid decision, without any purpose.”
In the plans of Belwood and his company Belwood Investment is to invest between $6 million dollars and $8 million dollars for the reform. He also said that Marmol Radziner will be part of the team.
Remember that West bought this house in 2021 for $57 million dollars, and initially tried to sell it for $53 million dollars.
