A never-before-seen facet of Inter Miami’s Argentine attacker, Lionel Messi, came to light this Saturday after his team’s match against Charlotte FC, which ended with a 1-1 scoreline.
A furious Messi unleashed all his anger on the main referee Ramy Touchan once he declared the end of the match, addressing him with insults that could have even represented his first expulsion since his arrival in the United States.
The match cameras focused on the Albiceleste star and he was seen saying comments in perfect Spanish that were so serious that they could not be replicated by the match commentators.
“You’re a badass, son of a bitch,” Messi shouted at the referee while his Uruguayan teammate Luis Suárez, close to him, took him straight to the locker room to avoid major incidents.
Despite this, he was sanctioned with a yellow card.
It is presumed that Messi’s claim had to do with an alleged foul that existed in the final minutes of the game near the Charlotte FC porch and that it would have represented a unique opportunity for those led by Gerardo “Tata” Martino to score the goal that would have sentenced the three points in his favor.
Users on social networks were surprised by the attitude of Messi, who usually has a shy personality and little given to conflict.
