The Israeli army indicated this Sunday that “more than 20 other Hezbollah terrorists” were killed in the Friday bombing of the Lebanese Islamist movement’s headquarters on the southern outskirts of Beirut that cost the life of its leader Hasan Nasrallah.
“More than 20 other terrorists of different ranks who were in the underground headquarters in Beirut, located under civilian buildings and who were directing Hezbollah’s terrorist operations against the State of Israel, were also eliminated,” he said in a statement.
Seven senior Hezbollah leaders killed by Israel
Several Hezbollah leaders died alongside Nasrallah in the so-called “New Order” operation, Israel said, adding that most of the organization’s senior officials died in Israeli operations in recent months.
The Israeli army also said Sunday that it had killed Nabil Kaouk, deputy head of Hezbollah’s Central Council, in an airstrike on Saturday.
The Islamist group confirmed his death, making him the seventh senior Hezbollah leader killed in Israeli strikes in just over a week, including founding members who had evaded death or detention for decades.
