The malt and creamy caramel flavored bar, dipped in a layer of Milky Way milk chocolate, turns 100 years old and celebrates it with a contest aimed at fans of the brand and chocolates for a chance to win sweet prizes.

The history of this popular candy begins in 1924, when it was first available to the public. Since then, the Mars brand has diversified products to offer the Milky Way bar in various sizes, Milky Way cookie dough bars, Milky Way midnight dark chocolate bars and Milky Way ice cream bars.

Mars Wrigley North America Vice President of Marketing Martin Terwilliger says he is proud to celebrate the century of Milky Way at Mars.

“We are proud to inspire moments of everyday happiness around the world through our portfolio of brands, and Milky Way is an essential part of that, reminding people in a fast-paced world to slow down and experience the joy of the moment. ”adds a statement.

A contest to celebrate

The hundred years of Milky Way rewards chocolate lovers with a contest that will be active until October 16, inviting them to disconnect and “take the Milky Way” this year.

The contest involves posting a photo on Instagram showing your favorite outdoor destination. The idea is to show the place where they slowed down, and enjoyed the moment.

The campaign will have the support of influencer Rainbolt, recognized for his “expertise in geographic divination,” who will identify where the photos were taken.

To participate, people must post their photos, tagging @milkywaybar and @georainbolt and using #MilkyWay100Contest.

Three finalists will be selected from the participating photos for Rainbolt to “guess,” who will receive $5,000 and 100 Milky Way Bars as a prize.
