Former soccer players Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Thierry Henry met again this Friday during the start of the NBA preseason at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where they met regarding the duel between the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets.
Almost 20 years after having briefly met at FC Barcelona, Ronaldinho and Henry merged in a hug that was preceded by a short conversation in which they both laughed and shared memories of their time in football.
The pair were then seen sharing in the front row the duel that featured the main figures of both teams such as Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Russel Westbrook in Denver, while Jayson Tatum, Jayler Brown, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday and more also watched action on the current NBA champions, although for just a few minutes.
Along with Ronaldinho and Henry there was also the former FC Barcelona footballer, Gerard Piqué, although the latter did not coincide with the Brazilian, but with the Frenchman, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 2009 under the technical direction of the Catalan Pep Guardiola.
This is the first time that Ronaldinho has been seen publicly after mid-week, last Wednesday, he was announced during an event in Miami as the official ambassador of the city’s headquarters for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The “deal” was sealed after Ronaldinho received the keys to the city from Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
