Football in Colombia is under scrutiny due to the issue of betting, since there have been several complaints that have been filed in recent years due to this situation, which has affected both clubs and coffee football players accused of fixing matches. .

Journalist Javier Hernández Bonnet revealed that a BetPlay League team has concrete evidence of a footballer who would be selling results from his own team. The commentator assured during the broadcast of the Blu Radio Sports Blog program that the club will file a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office and the Major Division of Colombian Soccer (Dimayor).

“The board of the Envigado Fútbol Club managed to detect that one of the players on their team, they caught him red-handed, was selling results (…) we have the name of the player, but this is a supremely delicate issue and we will keep it in reverses until the Envigade club, the Prosecutor’s Office or the Major Division of Colombian Professional Soccer make it official,” said Javier Hernández.

Hernández pointed out that one of the objectives with the supposed “sale of results” is for the Antioquia team to lose the category, since the club is very close to the relegation places, which are currently occupied by Patriotas Boyacá and Jaguares de Córdoba.

During the interview for the same medium, the president of Envigado, Ramón Ruiz, confirmed that the respective investigations are being carried out on the fixing of matches by one party, which involves a player from the institution.

“We are doing an internal investigation. “Today we received voluntary statements from several players where they indicate that they have had calls and insinuations not only for the match against Bucaramanga, but for previous matches for more than a year,” said the president of Envigado.

And he added: “We are not only worried, but very disappointed because Envigado is a club that fully complies with its commitments. Here we treat them like children because that is our basis, humanizing football. In the collection of information there is very specific data, and there is a clear issue with one player, but there are suspicions of several players that have been occurring since the previous year. Tomorrow we will end these voluntary declarations because at the moment we activated the internal alert, many players raised their hands.”

According to what Ruiz said, the Envigado player, who is accused of fixing matches, would have called several of his teammates to make offers to alter the results of his own club.

“What we are going to request from the criminal issue is to make traceability (…) we are going to go to the bottom because this cannot continue (…) we want the Prosecutor’s Office to be rigorous in its investigation and not only be suspended from sports,” Ramiro Ruiz pointed out in Sports Blog.

Ramiro Ruiz said that the objective of match fixing is to bring Envigado to the second division of Colombian soccer. “We have four coaches, we have had three very hard semesters, which sometimes we did not understand, and we compared it with the performance of the players in training.”
