Rocker Ozzy Osbourne, 75, has been battling Parkinson’s disease, neck and back problems for several years. However, recently the musician revealed that despite the health problems he faces, he still has the desire to continue using substances from time to time.
In an interview he conducted for the Madhouse Chronicles podcast, the Black Sabbath vocalist confessed and acknowledged that he has not been able to stay one hundred percent sober, despite fighting addictions for almost his entire life.
“I’m happier, but I’m not completely sober. “I use a little marijuana from time to time,” said the Briton, who lately depends on a wheelchair and crutches to get around, due to his health problems.
In the interview, Ozzy talked about how Sharon, his wife, watches over him all the time, something he appreciates, especially when he’s been craving drugs stronger than marijuana lately.
“I’m lucky that my wife kicks my butt all the time and makes my life very difficult. Even with marijuana, he will find it and get rid of it,” he added.
In addition, the so-called “Prince of Darkness” revealed that he tried ketamine after the back surgery he had in 2023.
“I went to the doctor recently and started taking ketamine. He put a small amount on me, but it was enough to wake me up. “That substance hit me and made me feel a weight on my brain.”
Finally, Osbourne also shared that he has stopped attending the weekly meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, something he regrets, and took the opportunity to give a message.
“If you’re out there and you use drugs and you want to quit, there are a lot of people who will help you (to use). AA is a 12-step program. It helped me sort it out to some extent, but I don’t go to meetings anymore. Maybe I should do it again, I don’t know,” Ozzy admitted.
