The American of Mexican descent and Arizona Cardinals player, Will Hernández, was out of the 2024 NFL season thanks to a torn cruciate ligament he suffered during the clash that kept the currency against the San Francisco 49ers.
In the middle of the match, Hernández accompanied an offensive in which he ended up colliding with Nick Bosa, a 49ers defender, which ended in his knee bending unnaturally and culminating in the serious injury.
The video, spread on networks by several users, shows in slow motion how Bosa ends up falling with the full weight of his body on the Hispanic man’s joint, which immediately unleashed severe pain that forced him to leave the duel towards a medical center.
It was there when it was confirmed that Hernández suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee, so it is estimated that he will be out of the field for between six and nine months, ending the current campaign.
The injury represents a tough loss for the Cardinals offensive line in protecting their quarterback Kyler Murray. Hernández had been one of the best on the team thanks to his good performance as a starter in five games and in the recent two seasons as one of the best on the team.
The 29-year-old player, whose parents are originally from the Mexican state of Michoacán, has been with the Cardinals since the 2022 campaign and thanks to his consistency he signed a two-year contract with Arizona which will conclude at the end of the 2024 season.
Since his arrival in the league, Will Hernández has been an ambassador of Mexico for the NFL and participates in constant campaigns in which he praises his roots.
