The family of New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodón, especially his wife Ashley, have been victims in recent hours of insults and threats by some Mules fans due to the Cuban’s performance this Monday, during the team’s loss 4 -2 against the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium.

A few hours before game 3 of the series tied 1-1 in the American League Division Series, Rodón’s wife uploaded screenshots to her by allowing four runs in 3.2 innings of work, including a home run by Salvador Pérez that started the Royals’ rally.

“The direct messages are now ready. I love interacting with everyone, but there is no place for this shit…“said the female.

Part of the messages towards Ashley included insults towards Rondón, towards the charitable foundation that he heads and some even related them to the children of the marriage, suggesting that some could be victims or “targets”.

Frustration also fell on Rodón, who hours before game 3 at Kauffman Stadium spoke with journalists about the situation he has had to live through.

“People are pretty nasty sometimes, but I don’t think that explains Yankee fans. I don’t think they are like that. I understand that (fans) are frustrated with the game, but my message to fans in general is: ‘We are human too. We make mistakes. We are not always perfect. I, by far, am not always perfect, and I understand the frustration and I understand that people get frustrated with the performance,’” the starter said.

It is unknown if Rodón or his partner will seek to take legal action or file charges with the corresponding authorities.

Rodón’s 2024 campaign was the best of his entire stay in the Major Leagues and he had a disastrous 2023, leaving a 16-9 record in 32 games.
