Thinking about the 2022 MLS season, Inter Miami has taken out the checkbook to make up to three signings among which the Swedish defender Christopher McVey stands out, from Elfsborg in that country, who will be until 2023 in the whole of La Florida.
In addition to being a European player, Inter took over the services of the also central defender, Aimé Mabika, the French goalkeeper Clément Diop and completed the renewal of midfielder George Acosta.
Chris Henderson, Director of Soccer Operations and Sporting Director of Inter Miami, introduced McVey as a promising signing that comes to reinforce the central defense. “ Christopher is a promising addition in a position that we needed to strengthen and we are excited about his arrival at Inter Miami. He is a versatile defender with good stature who can perform effectively in various positions”, said Henderson.
In this sense, the director of operations of David Beckham’s team, stressed that McVey “also holds a US passport, so he will not be taking up an international roster slot, which allows us flexibility as we continue to build a competitive roster for the season2021 of the MLS”.
The Swedish soccer player has just performed 42 appearances between all competitions for Elfsborg between 2017 Y 2021. Among them stands out the participation in five UEFA Conference League qualifying matches, in which he scored a goal and gave an assist.
Among the other signings announced by Inter, highlighting that of central defender Aimé Mabika who last season was in the club’s subsidiary, Fort Lauderdale CF, and has now signed with the big team until 2023.
In turn, also managed to add the French goalkeeper Clément Diop , who already has experience in the MLS and has signed for this 2022 with a club option for the campaign of the 2022
Diop, of 28 years old, he played with the LA Galaxy for two seasons before joining Montreal. In turn, it was indicated that he had already trained with Inter Miami last year.
