Although he came to be considered one of the great jewels of La Masía, Alex Collado was relegated by Ronald Koeman when the Dutchman directed the bench of Barcelona . In fact, the midfielder was left without a record within the first team and ended up on loan at Granada.
In an interview for the newspaper Marca, Collado confessed the ordeal he experienced with his former coach: “I showed the level in my team (the Barcelona B). The decision was his if he didn’t like it, or I don’t know what happened to him with me . But, in the end, with Koeman, I lost the desire to train a bit”.
The Barça pearl spoke about the bad communication what he had with the Dutch strategist: “He didn’t talk to me either, he didn’t speak or anything”. However, he refused to remove the wound: “I don’t want to go into much more detail. There have been complicated situations, but Barça is the club of my life” .
Collado, of 22 years old, will remain in Granada until the end of the season, where he seeks to have minutes and regain confidence . If all goes well, it could be part of Xavi Hernández’s plans for next season.
“When I heard the press conference (by Xavi), speaking from me, it was very exciting; because he was a great soccer player, now he is the coach, and that made me happy . But now I am here, in Granada, and the important thing is to perform well to show all what I can contribute to the team”, Collado highlighted. .
