After the controversial incident that occurred in the match between Sevilla and Betis, in which Joan Jordan was hit by a plastic bar thrown by a fan from the stands, action that triggered the suspension of the match, Sevilla recently reported the medical report of the affected footballer, who was diagnosed with a head injury.

Sevilla published a statement where reported that the player’s situation is stable, but that he will be kept under observation for a period of 24 hours .

“Joan Jordán is at home, after being hit by an object thrown from the local stands during the derby. Joan left Benito Villamarín sensibly dazed and was taken to the hospital, where he was examined and a series of tests established by protocol were carried out. The final diagnosis is traumatic brain injury”, reads the statement.

In the same way, the team condemned the action perpetrated by a Betis fan and classified it as an ‘infamous attack’.

“The club condemns the violent act against Joan Jordán, an unacceptable act in the world of sport and asks for the greatest respect for the figure of the Barcelona footballer, a professional of integrity and an exemplary person who has suffered an attack infamous”.

Lopetegui’s controversy after the attack on Jordan

After the reprehensible action, several Betis players, among which Víctor Camarasa, assured that Lopetegui, coach of Sevilla incited his footballer to get dizzy and throw himself on the ground with the intention of suspending the match.

Cristian Tello also spoke out against the action and questioned Lopetegui’s order to Jordan, as he assured that Sevilla always wanted the game to be suspended.
