JetBlue has offered to fly the family of Kristal Bayron-Nieves, a teenager murdered working at a “Burger King” in East Harlem (NYC), to Puerto Rico for free so that they can celebrate her funeral on her home island.

The wake for Bayron-Nieves (19) will take place this afternoon in “Manhattan Funeral Services” (550 East 104th St) from 2 to 7 pm His body will then be taken to Puerto Rico for burial, reported New York Post.

“The murder of Kristal Bayron -Nieves was an evil act, but one that caught the attention of our city,” Mayor Eric Adams said in a statement Saturday. “The outpouring of love and support from all corners of our city has been genuinely moving, and we thank JetBlue for providing free tickets for the family to celebrate their funeral in Puerto Rico. We are committed to providing her family with the resources they need as they and our entire city mourn the loss of such a promising young woman.”

Winston Glynn, of 30 years old, and who previously worked at the same restaurant, was arrested Friday and charged with murder, robbery and weapons possession. In the first appearance, Judge Jay Weiner ordered that the suspect remain locked up without bail.

The authorities maintain that on the morning of Sunday, January 9, Glynn entered the “Burger King” restaurant masked. Lexington Avenue and 116 Street, and asked the young woman for money from the cash register. Bayron Nieves died after the attacker allegedly shot him in the torso, despite the fact that the teenager had given him $100 Dollars.
